Sara Havener

Sara Havener is originally from North Carolina where she began dancing at the age of 5 and went on graduate from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2010 with a focus in ballet. Sara began her professional career with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, under the direction of Ethan Stiefel, performing soloist roles in ballets such as The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and George Balanchine’s Who Cares.

 

Sara spent three years as a company dancer with the Atlanta Ballet performing soloist and principal roles in productions such as The Nutcracker, Paquita, and Jean-Christophe Romeo et Juliette. With the Atlanta ballet Sara also had the opportunity to perform in several new works by choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Yuri Possokhov, and Helen Pickett. With the United Ballet Theatre Sara performed in the companies premiere show and recently represented the company as the featured guest artist for the ‘Unified Rhythm’ Gala performing the Act 2 Medora variation from Le Corsaire. As a teacher Sara has taught for several ballet schools including the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Education Program, the Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education, the Orlando Ballet School, and is currently teaching and choreographing in Orlando, Fl. Recently Sara received her CPT through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and specializes in cross training and corrective exercises for dancers.

While dancing and performing while training dancers through physical therapy and the aid Proteus, Sara also spends time with her husband and daughter, Emily.
